As coronavirus continues to spread, the physician and staff at The Spine Care Center are working hard to protect all of our patients from the virus while ensuring you can still get the care you need for back pain, neck pain, and other spine problems.

We have made numerous changes to our office and practices to help keep you safe. These changes, combined with our infection control measures already in place, can help prevent the virus from spreading.

Infection Control Measures

We are working to keep our offices as clean as possible. In addition to the frequent handwashing and disinfection we already practiced, we will also:

  • Thoroughly disinfect common areas such as the waiting room multiple times per day.
  • Disinfect all operating rooms and patient rooms between each patient.
  • Sterilize all non-disposable medical supplies in an autoclave between each patient’s appointment.
  • Wear additional protective gear.

We will continue to follow all CDC infection prevention guidelines within our practice to keep you safe.

Screening Protocols

Before you come to the office for an appointment, we will perform a quick health screening. We will ask you questions about your current health and recent travel. You may be asked to stay home if:

  • You show signs of respiratory illness, such as a cough, sore throat, fever, or trouble breathing.
  • You have traveled to a level 3 country as identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  • You have been on a cruise in the last 30 days.

When you arrive for your appointment, you will have your temperature taken before you enter our office and be asked to use hand sanitizer. We also ask that you please wait in your car, instead of the waiting room, for your appointment — this makes every patient’s visit more secure and diminishes overall exposure and helps curtails the spread.

Even if you cannot pass the screening questions, you may still be able to receive care for your back.

Telemedicine Appointments

For most patients who do not need a physical office visit, we now offer telemedicine appointments. Using just a smartphone or computer with a camera, we can conduct an appointment to help improve your spine health. Based on this appointment, our physicians can write prescriptions or schedule follow-ups to help improve your back’s condition. Most major insurance companies have announced that they are covering 100% of telemedicine appointments and waiving all copays and coinsurance.

Over the coming months, we will do everything we can to continue to deliver excellent integrated spine care. Our multidisciplinary team including a spine surgeon and interventional pain management specialists will continue to work together to care for your neck and back, relieving pain and restoring function.
