Back Pain Can be Debilitating
Back pain can be debilitating if it is not treated correctly. If you have neck pain, lower back problems, or even sciatica pain, you are probably wondering how you can help manage your pain. The Spine Care Center recommends these exercises can help you get back on your feet and back to your daily activities without pain.
Hip Raises
Lay on your back with your hands near your waist. Lift up through your hips slowly and hold your body off the floor for about 10-15 seconds. Repeat for at least 6 repetitions with a rest in between each of the movements.
Leg Pulls
Lay on your back with your feet flat on the floor and your legs bent. Reach up and pull one leg toward you at a time, holding gently for a few seconds before releasing. Alternate back and forth for about 4 repetitions on each side. Drop the legs down flat on the floor and repeat the process again.
Walk Gently
Go for a gentle walk. Suppose you are not struggling with sciatica pain. In that case, your Spine doctor will often tell you that getting up and taking a gentle stroll can help to activate the muscles that control your core and protect your posture while also loosening up sore, tight muscles in the quads and lower back.
Cat-Cow
Do cat-cow exercises at least twice a day. These exercises are yoga movements that are gently and stretch the core and the back. Get on your hands and knees and look up at the ceiling and arch your back gently down. Reverse this movement and curl your back up toward the ceiling as you look at the floor. DO six repetitions of these movements.
