We appreciate your consideration, understanding and compliance as we exercise extreme caution in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients and team members.
Presently there are over 600,000 in the US, and over 2 million globally. Confirmed cases are likely to continue to rise as tests become more available. Community spread is occurring in the U.S. As a result, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has expanded testing to “a wider group of individuals.”
Currently, The Spine Care Center is assessing all patients through a series of screening protocols prior to their appointment. Patients exhibiting any symptoms of respiratory infection, those who have traveled internationally to a level 3 country as identified by the CDC, and/or those who have been on a cruise in the last 30 days cannot be seen in our offices at this time. This includes patients experiencing a sore throat, cough, shortness of breath or a fever of 99.8 or above. Patients with these acute symptoms should seek care through an urgent care or emergency facility.
We regret the inconvenience this will cause for some of our patients. However, we feel it is important to protect those in elevated risk categories and contribute to the global effort to stop the spread of this disease.
The CDC has very specific recommendations on how to avoid transmission:
The Spine Care Center has always maintained the HIGHEST STANDARD OF INFECTION CONTROL, doing everything available to maintain the strictest protections for our patients and their escorts.
If you have additional questions about The Spine Care Center’s response to COVID-19 please feel free to contact our office at 703-257-2266.
